Languages (Spanish) - Year 11

In Year 11, students have 5 lessons per fortnight. They continue to follow the AQA specification which involves 100% examinations at the end of Year 11. These examinations will assess student's skills in Reading, Writing and Listening and there will be a separate examination day for Speaking. Each skill is worth 25%.

These exams can be entered at either Foundation or Higher level. Students will attempt at least one Listening, one Reading and one Writing paper during the course of Year 10. Students will also have a mock oral exam in December / January time of Year 11.

Grammar points to be learnt: reviewing the present, future and perfect tenses, the imperfect & conditional tenses, opinions, justifications & time references. Students must regularly revise all topic based vocabulary.

Friends and Family
Students will learn to understand and communicate details about friends and family

Students will also learn to:

2, give and understand opinions with extended justifications
3, communicate in, and understand, different tenses
4, use and understand a variety of structures to discuss relationships with friends and family.

Writing and speaking exam style questions, and exam style translations will be completed throughout the unit with an end of module extended writing to be completed in exam conditions  
The World of Work
Students will learn to understand and communicate details about the world of work and work experience

Students will also learn to:
1, communicate and understand facts
2, give and understand opinions with extended justifications
3, communicate in, and understand, different tenses
4, use and understand a variety of structures to discuss their future plans
Student Tracking exam to include tasks from varied topics. (Writing and reading)

Writing and speaking exam style questions, and exam style translations will be completed throughout the unit with an end of module extended writing to be completed in exam conditions  
Social Issues
Students will learn to understand and communicate details about social issues affecting the world and the planet

Students will also learn to:
1, communicate and understand facts
2, give and understand opinions with extended justifications
3, communicate in, and understand, different tenses
4, use and understand a variety of structures to discuss social issues.
