Creative Computing & Media (ICT) - Year 11

  • Qualification title: Pearson Edexcel Level 2 Certificate in Digital Applications, QN: 600/6627/1
  • 1 x 2.5 hour practical computer-based examination and 1 Controlled Assessment task
  • Number of lessons a fortnight: 5
  • There are four Assessment Objectives (AOs). These detail the knowledge, skills and understanding that students are required to demonstrate. Students are required to demonstrate practical capability in: AO1 applying creative processes to design digital products; AO2 selecting and preparing appropriate digital content; AO3 developing and testing effective, fit-for-purpose digital products; AO4 evaluating the fitness for purpose of digital products.

Topic  Overview  Assessment 
Developing Web Products 
Students will have to use web authoring software and other software tools to create a web product for a specified audience and purpose, using a client brief. Students will also have to evaluate their product.  
Practical examination  
Artwork and Imaging 
Students will be expected to: Design and develop graphic products; Develop scalable images and artwork; Develop bitmap images and artwork; Exhibit work in an e-portfolio; Review the products.
